Repurpose & Upcycle trend grows with third UPcyclePOP market, June 9th celebrating Fathers Day — UPcyclePOP
Eco creative artists, designers, craftspeople, makers and enthusiasts will be coming together for the third UPcyclePOP market celebrating Summers Fathers Day, featuring intricate repurposed art, furniture, fashion, home design and inventions.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – May 10, 2018 – PRLog — UPcyclePOP, Fathers Summer, is a creative environmental market to find the perfect one of a kind and eco-friendly fathers day gift, with interactive installations for all ages. Attendees are invited to live music, wine and beer while watching some of the most creative craftspeople create functional artwork out of discarded items.
All beer and wine proceeds go to the non-profit MusicLandria, Sacramento’s free musical library, dedicated to breaking down the barriers to musical exploration. The event is free, open to the public with free parking. Shop, play, remake and explore.
UPcyclePOP is Americas first-ever upcycle market, started by entrepreneur and media artist Shira Lane, who is a leading advocate of ‘upcycling’, encouraging people to find new uses for discarded items. “The goal of the event is to increase environmental awareness in regards to our throwaway economy,” said Shira Lane. “In the process, we are boosting our local creative economy because good upcycling is an art, you are buying a unique item designed and crafted by an artisan that is built to last for years to come.”
UPcyclePOP is a pilot project of Unleashed Productions, a creative agency and production company that promotes organizations and ideas that do good.

Who: Some artists scheduled to exhibit include Adrian Dayton-Rogers, who creates wire wrapped ray guns from found objects, Maureen Hefty turns old cutlery into jewellery, Mike Jones creates furniture from discarded objects, Metal Sculpture Artist Kristen Hoard and Musiclandria will have an interactive musical petting zoo.
